Peters Pledges Office Hours and Regular Town Hall Meetings

Today Sam Peters, United States Air Force veteran who will be formally declaring for Congress in the near future, greeted voters at incumbent Steve Horsford’s town hall meeting at the Doolittle Senior Center.  Peters pledged to hold regular office hours and hold a minimum of 12 town hall meetings.

“We need a Congressman who will put people first.  My priority will be Nevada not DC,” said Peters, who will campaign everywhere.  “As the next Congressman, I will be here at home when the House is not in session.  It won’t take over 100 days before I organize my first town hall meeting.  The people of this district will be my top priority.”

Peters is promising to hold regular office hours so people can meet directly with their Congressman.  Office hours will be held across the entire district.  When the House is not meeting, Peters plans on traveling the district going from town to town and city to city to hold office hours to make convenient for people to see their representative.

Also, Peters will hold a minimum of 12 town hall meetings per year seeking input on the important issues.  He believes communication is a two-way street.

“Our veterans, seniors, and working families deserve a hands-on Congressman who puts their interest first.  I am not going to become a creature of Washington.  From the moment I wake up in the morning and until my head hits the pillow at night, I will be focused on getting results for Nevada.  Whether it is a constituent with a problem or important issue, people can count on me,” said Peters.  “Having served in our military, I know the meaning of public duty.  As a business owner, I know how to deliver exceptional customer services.  I strongly believe that we can restore people’s faith in our Congress by doing what is right for the people rather than what is politically convenient.”

Peters is a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He served his country in Afghanistan, Iraq, Panama, and Korea.  He earned the Bronze Star for his efforts in Afghanistan.

After his service to our nation, Peters settled in Las Vegas with his family.  Peters worked for two years as a corporate employee where he managed nearly $100 million in annual revenue across the largest geographical region in the United States.  Exercising his entrepreneurial spirt, Peters founded Peters Family Insurance with two locations.  He presently employees eight.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Park University.  He finished his Master of Science in Administration, with focus on law, through Central Michigan University.  His continued thirst for knowledge, has also led him through a Graduate-Level Certificate Program in Organizational Finance from the University of Maryland University College.
