Peters: Is Horsford for Impeachment or Not?
Las Vegas, NV…Today Sam Peters, United States Air Force veteran who will be formally declaring for Congress in the near future, questioned Congressman Steve Horsford on his support for impeachment. Horsford was for impeachment during last year’s Democrat Primary but then backed off.
Today, Representatives Mark Pocan and Pramila Jayapal, the Co-Chairs of the Progressive Caucus, have called for impeachment. Horsford is a member of the caucus. Peters believes Horford needs to be honest with the people of Nevada where he stands on the issue of impeachment,
“Congress has been consumed with partisan politics. Instead of moving our country forward on the important issues, they want President Trump out of office. Congressman Horsford needs to let the people know where he stands on the issue. Is he with the Progressive Caucus on impeachment or is he with the people who have had enough of the politics?” questioned Peters.
Peters believes that if Horsford is opposed to the leadership of the Progressive Caucus that he should resign from the Caucus in protest.
“This is the best economy we have had in half a century. We have an opportunity to make some long term fixes on the national debt and secure borders, but Congress is squandering this time over their hatred of the President. It is deeply disappointing. Is Horsford for more partisan political gamesmanship or working for the people” said Peters.
On February 4, 2018 Horsford told the Nevada Independent that he was for impeachment. (https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/on-the-record-the-policy-positions-of-congressional-candidate-steven-horsford) After the 2018 Primary, he told NPR(10.15.18) that he wanted to see the Mueller report which was not what he said during the Primary.
“The people deserve an honest answer from Horsford. I am opposed to impeachment. President Trump has saved our economy and put so many Americans back to work. Nevada doesn’t want to go back to unemployment of 11 percent,” said Peters.
Peters is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served his country in Afghanistan, Iraq, Panama, and Korea. He earned the Bronze Star for his efforts in Afghanistan.
After his service to our nation, Peters settled in Las Vegas with his family. Peters worked for two years as a corporate employee where he managed nearly $100 million in annual revenue across the largest geographical region in the United States. Exercising his entrepreneurial spirit, Peters founded Peters Family Insurance with two locations. He presently employs eight.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Park University. He finished his Master of Science in Administration, with focus on law, through Central Michigan University. His continued thirst for knowledge, has also led him through a Graduate-Level Certificate Program in Organizational Finance from the University of Maryland University College.
